Shearer's Hot Take Hotline

When it comes to the World Cup, everyone’s got a take – and every opinion deserves to be heard. That’s why we teamed up with Betfair, the home of opinions, to launch Shearer’s Hot Take Hotline: a fan-powered platform giving the nation a direct line to Premier League legend Alan Shearer. Ahead of and throughout the 2026 World Cup, fans could call in and leave their hottest takes, from England’s chances to squad selections and everything in between. Shearer then picked up the best, boldest and most controversial opinions to share his own hot takes across Betfair’s channels.
